Accommodation in a social protection institution, i.e. a home for children and youth, represents the right of a child who has found himself in a state of social need (due to material, health or other deficits of the child himself or his family/relatives, and due to deprivation of parental rights due to abuse, neglect, misuse or fig.).
Children and young people in the Social Institution. protection is referred to the competent Center for Social Work, which, in accordance with the child's age, characteristics and needs, decides on the most appropriate type of care.
A child placed in a Home for Children and Youth has the opportunity to continue living in a group of children and young people (up to 26 years old, if in regular education), with whom educators, a psychologist and a social worker work, who strive to help the child overcome all developmental difficulties and experienced traumas and to grow into a healthy one with professional support and help an educated and capable person who, with acquired knowledge and skills, will continue an independent life.
Children and youth placed in the Social Protection Institution or Home for Children and Youth have the opportunity to use:
- Comfortable rooms (IV educational group 48 places) equipped with beds, desks and wardrobes (all according to prescribed standards).
- Living rooms equipped with comfortable furniture and televisions where socializing, group work, and social relations are encouraged.
- Modernly equipped bathrooms for maintaining personal hygiene, especially for girls and boys.
- A kitchen with a dining room where five meals are provided (prescribed by the standards) that enable the healthy growth and development of the child.
- Digital classroom for IT, general education and entertainment.
- A creative workshop to encourage special skills and talents.
- Gymnasium for sports activities.
- Constant and continuous counseling and help to solve/overcome everyday problems and internal tensions, as well as cooperation with referral centers to maintain contacts with relatives and comprehensive health care - psychologist and social worker.
- 24-hour supervision and monitoring in meeting basic needs, rights and obligations, corrective preventive and educational work - educators.
